I would like to welcome you and your child to W.L. Swain Elementary School! I am the PreK-5th grade Severe/Profound ESS teacher. I am very excited about working with your child and look forward to getting to know all of you this year! My goal, for this year, is to instill a love of school in all of the children, in hopes of making their year a happy growing experience. Your child will growth both educationally and socially this year, and I think it will be fun for all of us!

I am a graduate of Dalton State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I obtained additional certification in both General and Adapted Special Education as well as in ESOL. I earned my Masters of Special Education through Georgia Southern University this Spring. I am currently working towards an MS. degree from The University of Tennessee. I have an SRT-5 certificate and am highly qualified to teach your child. This is my 4th year in the classroom.

I am very fortunate to have a capable paraprofessional working with me again this year. Lauren Norris earned her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked for several years in a local day care setting. She will be an asset to this classroom.

Joining us this year is Elsa Valladares. She has worked as a paraprofessional for six years and Bren Mar Park Elementary School in an ESS classroom setting. She is a certified Paraprofessional and has 120 hours of Early Childhood Education Development courses. She is a vital part of our student's day at school.
