Bio

My name is Sierra Jones, and I am W.L. Swain’s new Paraprofessional Media Specialist. This is my 4th year at W.L. Swain. I previously taught 3 years as the Computer lab teacher. I attended Shorter College after graduating with highest honors from Sonoraville High School in 2009. At Shorter, I was working toward an English Major with Education and Communications Minor. I wanted to see if teaching was something I truly wanted to do full time, so I applied to take the Paraprofessional GACE test to begin working with students as a paraprofessional. I am highly qualified to teach your student.

I enjoy getting to know each and every student who comes into my class. I married my husband, Wesley Jones in 2011. He is a former Swain student and a graduate of Gordon Central. We have 1 daughter, Olivia Jones. She started 2nd Grade at W.L. Swain this year. My mother, Cindy Howard, is also a 3rd grade Social Studies, Science, and Math teacher here at W.L. Swain. I have one sister, Deidra Howard, who is a nurse. My father, Jeff Howard, works on computers and is also a former Swain Student. As you can see, our family is fully invested in the past and future of Swain Elementary. We truly believe that the Warrior Nation starts here. If there is anything you would like me to know or discuss, please feel free to contact me at sjones@gcbe.org.
